Summary
The Warehouse Associate receives, stores, inspects, and distributes raw materials, tools, equipment, and products within a heavy industrial manufacturing setting by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Receives and unloads inbound shipments. Inspects shipments for damage, quantity, accuracy, and basic quality requirements.
- Verifies raw material identification, part numbers, quantities, and lot/heat numbers as required for traceability.
- Operates forklift, powered pallet jack, manual pallet jack, dolly, etc., to safely move material throughout the warehouse and facility.
- Performs pre-use inspections of forklifts and reports any equipment or safety concerns.
- Reads packing slips, checks accuracy against materials received, and enters information into the ERP system to account for receipt of materials.
- Marks and labels materials with identifying information as needed.
- Conveys and puts away raw materials and parts in appropriate shelves, bins, racks, and designated storage areas.
- Ensures materials are properly stored and protected from damage while maintaining accurate identification and traceability.
- Uses the ERP system to determine customer and production material needs and releases parts to orders.
- Reads and interprets pick tickets, locates and picks parts, and distributes them within the facility or prepares them for outbound shipment as needed.
- Performs basic quality checks and reports damaged, incorrect, or nonconforming material to the appropriate personnel.
- Uses carrier websites to create shipping documents and arranges freight shipments with customers or carriers. Prepares parcel packages and LTL loads for shipment.
- Requests warehouse supplies as needed.
- Completes inventory cycle counting requirements as assigned.
- Maintains clean, organized, and safe warehouse and material storage areas.
- Follows all company safety, quality, and material-handling procedures, including required PPE.
- Minimum High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three (3) years of warehouse, material handling, or inventory experience.
- Forklift experience required; forklift certification preferred.
- Basic understanding of material identification, inventory control, and quality requirements.
- Ability to maintain an appropriate attendance record.
- Must have good initiative, dedication, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be available to work weekends as well as overtime.
- Must be able to work in an industrial environment including temperature extremes of heat and cold, dust, noise, outdoor weather conditions, and wear all required personal protective equipment.
- Must be physically fit, including lifting up to 50 lb., pulling, reaching, bending, and climbing.
- Must pass a drug test.
- Demonstrates strong self-motivation and discipline by efficiently completing tasks and solving problems while working independently with minimal supervision.
- NetSuite ERP experience is a PLUS.
