Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Machinist to support our manufacturing operations through the setup and operation of both manual and CNC machining equipment. This role requires hands-on experience with precision machining, strong attention to detail, and the ability to produce high-quality parts to print specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Set up, program, and operate a Milltronics MB-20 CNC mill
Set up and operate a Bridgeport knee mill, manual lathe, and surface grinder
Operate H&S flange facing machines to resurface raised face, flat face, RTJ, and specialty flanges
Set up, align, and secure flange facing equipment according to manufacturer procedures
Measure and verify flange dimensions, surface finish, and tolerances using precision instruments
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
Select appropriate tooling, feeds, speeds, and cutting inserts for various materials
Perform basic CNC conversational programming and editing as required
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, etc.)
Maintain tight tolerances and ensure parts meet quality standards
Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment in good working order
Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Work collaboratively with engineering, quality, and production teams
These are the key responsibilities but not limited to. This position at times may be asked to assist in other production areas utilizing their skills and knowledge
Qualifications
Proven experience as a machinist in a job shop or manufacturing environment
Strong working knowledge of:
Bridgeport knee mills
Manual lathes
Surface grinders
Milltronics MB-20 CNC mills (or similar CNC milling machines)
Ability to read and understand GD&T
Experience with precision measurement and inspection tools
Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Preferred Qualifications
CNC programming experience specific to Milltronics controls
Experience machining a variety of materials (steel, aluminum, stainless, plastics, etc.)
Formal machining or technical training
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination
Work Environment
Machine shop environment with exposure to noise, cutting fluids, and metal chips
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
