The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the interior and exterior of the facility and grounds to ensure the integrity of the facility and to achieve the objectives of the company and department while complying with all safety and regulatory requirements. Performs a variety of work in the preventative maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds including carpentry, basic electrical and mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and grounds keeping. Additionally has the ability to perform special projects when the need arises and has the capability to work outside of his maintenance position to assist with special projects. This person must have a clean driving record and able to operate a maintenance vehicle. Continually demonstrating proficient communications and ability to work in a team environment under short timelines

Responsibilities

Responsible for the repairs and maintenance at the company facility inside and outside.
Able to work with all hand tools and power tools; have maintenance knowledge and skills to include electrical, carpentry, dry-wall, painting, plumbing, and landscaping.
Perform light construction and remodeling efforts as required.
Acts as the primary contact for any building issues like climate control, odors, smoke, spills, damage, emergencies and repairs.
Maintain cleanliness of the buildings and grounds.
Maintain the outside lawns, landscaping, picnic areas and retention ponds.
Perform necessary duties to back-up the contract cleaning services to maintain a clean facility during regular hours.
Parking lot maintenance including snow and ice removal.
Conduct basic facility, equipment, and furniture repair.
Perform basic electrical work and determines when an electrician is required.
Perform basic plumbing work and determines when a plumber is required
Perform basic HVAC work and determines when a Heating and Air company is required.
Ability to know when outside subcontractors are needed for larger repairs and make recommendations of same to facility manager.
Monitors contractor performance and works closely with outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed according to specifications

Qualifications

Requires minimum of five (5) years’ experience in construction and general maintenance.
Age required: 21 YEARS
Strong analytical skills and demonstrated problem solving capability.
Knowledge of designated equipment including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and controls
Ability to work well as a team or individually and be very self-motivated.
Must be able to perform work at heights.
Must be able to work all shifts, flexible hours and mandatory overtime.
Proven track record of continuous improvement
Ability to pass a drug test
Clean driving record
