Inside Sales Associate

Are you really good at keeping projects on task? Do you understand how to take customer phone call and turn it into an opportunity? Are you a great listener? Do you understand technical products? If you’re great with keeping sales opportunities moving from a lead to a quote, then we need to connect.

We’re looking for our next Inside Sales to join the Dearing Compressor & Pump Co. team to help our customers find the best way to keep their production processes moving. Our Inside Sales work in the industrial markets with manufacturers, producers, fabricators, municipalities etc. helping them find ways to optimize their rotating equipment.

The Inside Sales Admin will:

  • Be an active quoter and closer.
    • Inbound Sales.
    • Outbound Sales.
    • Project Quotations.
  • Be excited about working in the industrial space.
    • So, we do and help our customers do cool stuff. But, that doesn’t mean we work in glamorous spaces, places or with trending stuff. We wear jeans, steel-toed shoes and safety gear. We work with customers that run processes in clean rooms to sewage treatment facilities. We work with customers who make things happen. We think that’s awesome; you should, too.
  • Be the first and go-to person.
    • You’ll be the person our customers hear when they call or find us. They’ll be the person they hear from when it’s time for maintenance, warranty or service repair.
  • Be a lead generator.
    • Find new customers, develop existing customers.
  • Be a product resource
    • You will learn the Dearing product line and understand which products help fix problems, and how to get the right help for our customers when they need it from sales, service or warranty.
  • Be independent.
    • Work within your assigned projects keep quotes moving, sales leads flowing, and calls answered.
  • Be flexible.
    • Our customer’s bottom line depends on our solutions to their process problems. They don’t make money if their compressed air and pumps don’t work. Schedules change, projects shift, moving parts stop moving and we make it work.
  • Be an aggressively active learner.
    • You might not know much about rotating equipment, but you’ll need to. If you do know rotating equipment, then we expect that you keep moving forward with new applications, customer needs, product tech and designs that are rapidly evolving.
  • Be process and project driven.
    • Our customers are engineers, mechanics, and maintenance professionals. They live, eat and breathe process. You should, too.
  • Be comfortable with navigating and using tech.
    • We don’t like reporting-to-report, but our products are technical, our customers are busy and you will use tech in front of customers and behind the scene to get stuff done.
  • Be likeable and want to have fun.
    • Let’s face it, we spend a lot of time it work - we celebrate wins, work collaboratively, and genuinely smile at work.

What we'll teach you:

  • How to optimize your selling time and process.


  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in science, engineering, math, finance, accounting, or other analytically-oriented field of study OR equivalent proven work experience and training.
  • 1 to 5 years of inside sales or sales support, ideally with a mix of inbound and outbound sales.
  • 1 to 5 years of hands-on experience of supporting a client-focused, sales environment.
  • 1 to 5 years of project support or other account support experience.
  • Proven experience in meeting goals, self-direction, time management and utilization of resources.
  • Professional-level interpersonal, written, digital and verbal presentation and communication skills.
