The Project Engineer designs, models and provides technical support to users of Dearing’s engineered products. Recipients of this support shall include Dearing production, field service personnel, 3rd party design firms and/or end users (customers). The Project Engineer is responsible for ensuring units satisfy the applicable codes and customer specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Review customer specifications.
Generate, review and approve piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID).
Generate, review and approve bill of materials (BOM), including unit spare parts.
Design and model piping systems, vessels, and steel structures based on required specifications, applicable codes and industry standards.
Generate, review and approve project detail drawings.
Work with analysis firms on acoustic, mechanical, and torsional reports and integrate into design of project.
Work with vendors on equipment needed for projects which includes drawing reviews and approvals.
Main point of contact for customer/3rd party design firm on assigned projects.
Interact with customers/3rd party design firms on drawing approvals and project schedules.
Participate in meetings including but not limited to: project design reviews, standards, and engineering.
Provide support to orders and supply chain departments when needed.
Provide support to production for assembly of project.
Provide technical support to Dearing shop, field service personnel, 3rd party design firms and end users (customers) assisting with troubleshooting problems encountered in Production and in the field.
Participate in customer visits, shop tours, test runs, and conference calls.
Work with quality control providing support and documentation for in-process and completed units.
Write and send change order requests to customer.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering; three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3-5 years experience working with AutoCAD or inventor or other design system.
