Under strict supervision, the mechanic’s helper will assist the Field Service Technician with reassembly and commissioning, start-up and repair of Natural Gas Compressor Packages. Construction experience is a plus.
This position is 100% travel.
DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Ability to build trust quickly; interact and communicate well with customers and coworkers.
Follow all safety procedures, environmental guidelines and company rules and regulations.
Maintain work area; maintain all equipment in a clean, safe working condition.
Follow all instructions and guidelines as outlined by direct supervisor.
Perform commissioning, preventive maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs as directed by direct supervisor.
Travel overnight weekly and must work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload.
Periodic lifting requirements in excess of 50 lbs.
Must have ability to stand and walk on uneven and varied terrain, climb ladders and stairs; and stoop, squat, kneel, crouch and crawl depending on the task requirements.
Be exposed to a variety of weather conditions. Working conditions in natural gas compression vary from one job site to another. Some job sites are indoors in compressor stations while other sites are outside.
Self- starter that is willing to learn.
Punctual and hardworking.
Must have a strong emphasis on safety.
Possess mechanics hand tools and be familiar with their use.
Maintain a valid unrestricted driver’s license with clean driving/legal history.
Technical knowledge and interpersonal skills typically gained through completion of technical school or other related experience.
Read and comprehend written technical information in the form of technical manuals, parts books, and relevant publications is essential.
